Heyo, question for the community. I play Anno 1701 as a way to relax, but it has a very unrelaxing problem: it crashes when I try and save. Every so often I'm able to get a successful save, but at this point I've probably lost just as much time in the game as I've managed to save when it crashes and erases an hour's worth of progress. I've run as an administrator, still crashes.

Anyone encounter this problem or know what I can try to fix it?

Even when running the game with admin rights there may be problems with writing in the installation folder if it is inside C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86). If it is installed in one of these locations, try moving the complete installation folder out of there to a location like C:\games or another custom folder. It should still work, if not, reinstall the game to the new location.
