Hi All,
Just got Anno1404 from GoG, installed it, everytime I try to launch it, get popup "Failed to initialize directX!"

Tried running in compatibility mode, makes no difference. Read lots of notes about "Failed to initialize directX!" on steam, none of which work.

Any ideas?

Pry open control panel, go to programs and features, sidebar add/remove Windows Features, go to legacy components, and enable DirectPlay.

If that doesn't work then you'll need to find the DX9 runtime installer.
