HI. I wonder if the History version of Anno 1404 will be available on GoG too?

Ubisoft has gone full platform with uplay now and 1404 now also has multiplayer that requires uplay to function.

Ubisoft has really gone down the shitter. Such a garbage company now. The whole History edition should of been just an update that fixed the widescreen then leave it alone. They will start to die like EA and crawl back to Steam and GoG.

Anyone know what the QoL improvments are specifically in History vs Gold? I dont have uPlay installed and I really do not want it. When will publishers figure out that we dont want 50 game platforms installed on our PC's? Steam and/or GoG please!

The History edition merely fixed a few "serious issues" with the out-of-memory problem being the only named issue. It does not fix "most" regular quest nor interface bugs not already fixed in earlier patches/version. Typical Ubisoft.

That said, I have the Gold edition of the game on DVD + the v3.1 official patch (which I think also removed the DRM) and is probably equivalent to the GOG version?? Anyway, it seemed to play fine. Not tried it on any new hardware though (worked on XP which I kept until 2020, can't recall if I played it on any Vista/Win7, and not tried it on Win10).
