It starts in window mode, so I go to options and switch it to fullscreen and it doesn't change it. Even after a restart. Any ideas?

I've tried a few things. Sometimes it acts like it's going to be in full screen, but quickly changes to window mode before the splash screens come up. It's like something is forcing it to be in window mode.

It also refuses to run in anything but 640X480(low res). So it's basically stuck in this resolution in window mode. Anything I try to change instantly goes back to these.

I was playing in window mode and this happened too.

That's me above that temple of beating. Somehow I warped out of the level. During the tutorial fight it replayed the cutscene where that guy hits me and breaks my gun. It played it like 3 times while the tutorial fighter guy was talking. This game is really buggy.

Did you try Alt-Enter?

That bug (one of VERY few left, all caused by the same thing, some kind of buffer overload) always has been very common and is ALWAYS sorted by a simple restart/ reload.

Gog's version is remarkably stable, especially in comparison to the disc version.

EDIT... I've changed my mind.. it's stable, but it IS buggy.

This happened to me with the CD version, and I never solved it. However, with the GoG version, I can play in "Hi-Res" fullscreen. Just beware of Hi-res mode, as it's actually 1280x960 - you should check first if this resolution is available in your GPU driver. Otherwise, the game will revert back to a window. You can add customs resolutions with tools such as Powerstrip. You could also try the shortcuts provided by GoG which allow to force a resolution (640x480, 800x600 [text issues possible], 1280x960).
I'm assuming my gpu doesn't support high res, because it always reverts back to window mode. I have no idea why it wouldn't though. I just bought this computer.
On my computer it's because my screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, so the resolutions are like 1280x800, 1400x1050, 1680x1050... 1280x960 is using a 4:3 aspect ratio, so it's not listed nor supported by default (in fullscreen). I assume it's kind of the same thing with your computer. Whatever the GPU, if it's even remotely recent, it should handle this resolution easily. Before I added the custom resolution, Anachronox would always revert to 640x480 windowed. Have you tried the shortcuts given in the game's folder? ("All programs => Gog => Anachronox => Tools") 800x600 should at least work (it appears with both aspect ratios), try to see if you can get it working fullscreen from there.
Tried all those. Even the 800x600. It still always reverts the window mode 640x whatever is it.
