Is it just me, or does moving forward/backward sometimes cause movement to "lean" left or right? It's not something particularly game-breaking, just annoying. Does anyone else have this problem or any fixes to it?

This game has some little glitches here and there, but generally should be fixed by loading a normal save file I think.
If loading doesn't solve the problem, maybe you can check the bugs thread somewhere in this sub-forum, hopefully there's an solution.
For me, at the ending scene, while all members are walking in a row, my Sly walks with stepping only his one foot repeatedly XD

Hey, not sure if you are still working on this or if anyone else has this issue, but Strijkbout is correct. You need to turn on vsync. Unfortunately, the game doesn't have it as an option, but if you have an AMD video card you can use the radeon software and then set the wait for vertical refresh option to always on for anachronox (each game has it's own profile in this software.) I'm sure there is something similar for nvida cards, but this completely fixed the issue for me. Good luck to you and/or any future players of this game.
