I bought the game just last night and spent over an hour playing it. I regularly saved the game too. (and I'm absolutely positive I was saving the game)

However now that I load up the game there is no sign of a saved game anywhere.

What's going on? :( Is there some annoying quirk to saving that I missed?

Edit: I think I might not have played it as administrator, I heard gog games often have issues with not playing as administrator?

If you also installed it into the "program files" folder, you might be in a pickle. Never install any games there ...
I don't remember but the game could have been set on Admin mode by default after installation. If this is the case, try launching it in this mode and the saves should reappear. If you played without Admin, be sure to uncheck this option in the shortcut (old games are quite sensitive to that: if you play in normal/Admin mode and then Admin/normal some could revert all your settings to default etc). Sometimes Windows just "loses" shortcuts settings - what I do is noting down the settings applied to the game just after install, in case it suddenly behaves strangely.

Also, Anachronox does save in two ways: through "time minders" (the white, furry winged animals), or if you have set the game so, through the menu. In any case you should find autosaves.

Thanks, just tried this and I see the save games again.

I think what happened was I played without administrator last night....and then at some point between then and now I changed the game to run as administrator.
Glad to see you've found them!
