It worked well enough for Interstate 76, I wonder how it will go with Anachronox.

Could anyone try it and report back?..
Heyyo,

I tested it, and it works just as good if not better than zeckenhack's glide wrapper on Anachronox.
What advantage does using a glide wrapper have over just running the game without it? Is it just a speed thing, or are there noticeable visual improvements? Also, has anybody tried Anachronox with ENBSeries or nHancer or something crazy like trying to replace ref_gl.dll with R1CH's OpenGL Renderer for Quake II? I've been looking at some options for making Anachronox look shinier, but I haven't tried anything yet.

You can use the glide wrapper to render the game to higher resolutions than whatever's available regularly, namely widescreen stuff.
But aren't there issues with running Anachronox in widescreen? (you know, the whole thing about the UI height being tied to FOV) Or would the glide wrapper be able to get around that?

When using nGlide you can have it render in 4:3 in any resolution, meaning you can run in your monitor's native resolution. You can also choose to have it run in widescreen. But in Anachronox I think this would cause some problems although I haven't tried it myself.
Does this fix the opaque window (dark decal) bug?

So does it mean it supports 1440:900 resolution? If it does, how I can I modify my Anachronox installation to use nglide instead of GCT (used by default in GOG version)?

It ought to be able to run in 1440x900 but on my computer it Anachronox doesn't seem to work in glide... No idea why. But it ought to be able to run 4:3 in any resolution.
Hmmm, funny. I just tried again. And now it works in glide... I set it to 640x480. And then set the nGlide configurator to run in 1920x1080 and 4:3 and that works. A thing that I can't explaint though is that I get a wicked 3d nag screen when starting it. I am not aware of having wicked 3d installed.

Okay, but how do I set Anachronox to use nGlide instead of GCT thing it uses by default.? Do I have to rewrite something in some .ini file or something else?
There are three things you need to do: 1. In the Anachronox GCT setup choose the 3Dfx GL driver. 2. You need to make sure there is no glide.dll in the game library. If there is I suggest you rename it. 3. Set the resolution to 640x480. The actual resolution of the game is set in the nglide configurator. But on my computer the game crashes if I try to run it using the 3dfx driver while I have a higher res selected in the game setup.
Thanks :)

Hm...problems: I´ve installed nGlide few months ago, when I was trying to run Severance:The Blade of Darkness, but it doesn´t appear to be installed anywhere, so I unpacked the files into program files (x86) directory and game gives me an error saying there is no glide2x.dll installed, yet there is. Also, it wants me to use WickedGl instead.

Got the nGlide folder out of Program Files directory, still the problems persists.

On my system nglide is installed into c:\windows\SysWOW64. But if it's a few months since you installed nGlide I'm pretty sure it has been updated since. So I suggest you update it to the latest version. If you have had it installed anywhere but the default location I'd recommend uninstalling the old version first. The newest version can be found here

I think the wickedGL thing is the version of the metaGL file that comes with Anachronox. But on my computer if I run Anachronox in 3dfx mode even though in the setup it says 640x480 it definitely runs in 1920x1080. Still I get that annoying WickedGL logo rotating while I play... So if anyone know of a substitution for the metagl.dll that doesn't come with a nag screen and spinning logo that will be much appreciated.

Hmmm, after fooling around with it all day I don't think it is really worth it with this exact game... The good thing is you get graphics in your monitor's native res. The bad thing is the nag screen and the logo... And the colors do seem a little off in 3dfx...

Thank you, finally I was able to run it, though I have to say what you just wrote is true - that logo sure is annoying, plus colors are little bit off, so I will just return back to GCT and from now on I´m gonna be thankful for it :)
