Hi all,

I've experienced this weird bug where all of my camera pictures across all saves have been deleted, or at least aren't being displayed in the camera interface. Any ideas on how to fix this issue or have all my Bipidri picks gone for good?

Thanks for any help.

You sure it's across ALL saves? This only happens to me when I reload from an Autosave point - whenever I reload from a save I've made myself this issue doesn't appear.

Check your Anachronox\anoxdata\SAVE\<"Username">\photos folder ("Username" is the name you chose in Anachronox as your profile name - if you don't choose one it's "GLOBAL"). There should be a directory for each save, each of which containing a bunch of TGA and DAT files named photoXX.tga and photoXX.dat, where XX is the position of the photograph in the camera.

If these folders are all empty or contain no TGA files then your photos are indeed gone. Unfortunately, as far as I know there's nothing you can do about it, unless you can restore the deleted files somehow...

With those "collection" quests (e.g. Bipidri pics), whenever you're near the guy you hand them in to, if you talk to him you'll get all the new pics "marked" as complete. While with the Bipidri guy you don't get anything until you have all the pics, once a Bipidri is marked as complete it doesn't matter if you lose the photo later as it's already "done". Which means less frustration and repeated effort if your pics disappear mysteriously.

Having said that, it IS possible to go back and re-take all the photos, but you may have to get past a certain point in the main story before you're able to return to certain places.

Although that is a massive pain in the ass. If the OP wants, they can possibly request others to provide the pics and then they should (in theory) be able to copy them into the photos folder for the most recent save. Should work and might save some time. I don't think I have ALL the Bipidri photos, but I have at least some of them.

Oh, absolutely. But when I played, I was worried that I had permanently missed my chance for some of the photos, so I was glad to discover I could go back later to take them.
Hi All,

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I had checked all my saves seems like everything's gone after a certain point. Even tried pulling in the pictures from a very old save towards the start of the game from the photo.dat files. No dice. However I did manage to retake the pictures I hadn't handed in so it was all good in the end.
It is possible to grab photos from an older save. Go to the folders indicated above by squid830 and copy those TGA and DAT files from one save to another. Just make sure to reload the save after you copy the files. I had this problem once and was able to sort it out by doing this. It does came at a cost though, since it seems to mess up the save somehow, making the game "forget" that you already collected certain items.
