With the GOG release has there been fixes to the EAX in the game. The game use to be really unstable with EAX and in later patches was disabled.

Another question is can the game use the intended 3DFX-Mini-GL driver that came with the game?

To use 3DFX Glide you would need to download a Glide Wrapper and have it minimised in the background when starting up and playing the game. I use one to play Heretic 2 with 3DFX Glide and a few other games and it works really well :

in the the unofficial patches the entire EAX stuff was removed as the library was broken.

It would take me sometime to dig up the older patch notes...

Well I read that EAX was disabled after later patches. I downloaded that glide wrapper and When i launch he game it crashes and tells me i dont have glide2x.dll.

Also does running in 3DFX-Mini-GL improve anything?

Why do you want to run this with a glide wrapper in a 3dfx mode? Is the OpenGL version not working?

I was just curious as to how to get 3dfx working and what it does.

There shouldn't be any visible differences in quality, you are just making a workaround - it translates glide to 3dfx, now an obsolete piece of tech.

Also you may expect visual distortions with a glide wrapper.
