So glad GOG is getting this. I've wanted to play it ever since I played the Syberia series, and until now my only choice was GamersGate, and it's twice as much there. I'm glad I held out.
One thing I do find odd, though... the game's download size is listed as 5.1 GB here, which, unless I'm mistaken, makes it the biggest game on the site. GamersGate's download is only three gigs. Better compression software, I guess.

Very wild guess: GOG will release this game in several languages.
I never played Amerzone. I bought Syberia 1+2, loved the game but I could only find a Metaboli version of Amerzone. I had a horrible experience with Metaboli when I bought Syberia, so buying from them wouldn't be an option. Long live GOG...
I hope to see Still Life one day as well. Microids is an underrated developer.

The original version was on 4 CDs.
I never actually finished Amerzone first time out. For some reason i never really got into it. I absolutely loved Syberia though, but due to my periodical waves of interest in computer games didn't play it until a few years after it was out. When i decided to go back and give Amerzone another try it didn't run well on my computer and so i abandoned it again.
So i think when it comes out here i may commit myself to really playing it properly this time! I still have the cd upstairs (and yes, it was 4 discs, explaining the size).
I'm not really surprised that the game is that large; I was just surprised that the GOG download (5.1GB) is almost twice as big as the one from GamersGate (3GB). The multi-language thing sounds plausible to me.
I hope to see Still Life, too. I've wanted to pick it up for a while now, but it's difficult to tell which copies have the DRM (StarForce or SecuROM 7; I can't remember which) and which ones don't. Hopefully we can get Post Mortem and Still Life on here to boost interest in the recent Still Life 2.
I remember finding this game quite charming, and not too difficult either. I liked it. It's not a classic in my book, but a decent, enjoyable experience. A bit on the short side, though (so IMO $5.99 would be a better price).

I loved Still Life! I would really like to try Post Mortem and would buy it in a heartbeat of gog gets it on their site. But I've already played through Still Life 2 (I broke down and ordered a boxed copy because I loved Still Life so much) and I have to say I was extremely disappointed with it.
It was painful just to finish it... :(

Still Life 2 was developed by some company other than Microids. I think I read somewhere that Microids is dead, and its development staff was disbanded.
This sounds a bit as if it's a cross between "Green Mansions" (1904 book by W. H. Hudson) and the recent movie "Up"... looks promising from the Justadventure review, but is it wayyyy overboard on the "political correctness" front?

Yes, it must be the mulitilanguage thing. The best version of Amerzone that was originally released was a rather rare DVD version. I own it and it's around 3 gig compared to the 1,8 gig of the four CD version. Must be the version sold at GamersGate and probably here as well with the addition of more language packs.

Oh, don't look forward to playing Post Mortem. The settin is great and they tried some interesting things but the game is all over the place. There's no logic in how the discussion s with NPC's goes, there are some topics which you can choose although you can't know about the topic yet. And the main character deducts and makes decisions based on things the player hasn't seen yet. As such the games plot is difficult to follow and you really don't know what you are supposed to do or why.
The game isn't overly difficult put really painful to play. The characters also shiver and quiver all the time like they are having a fit during dialogue.
I love adventure games and Still Life and Syberia but Post Mortem is shit.
It was great to finally play this game. I learned about this after I had bought Syberia games and have been looking for it since.
