So I have a OSX 12.7.

When I try to start this game within GOG Galaxy or from the .app directly, it will open up and crash within a second. From going to the console and looking at the logs, this is the error message.

failed to get text offset for /Applications/Amerzone The Explorer's Legacy.app/Contents/MacOS/GOGLauncher[1592]: (#3) No such process

Not sure where to start troubleshooting this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here... tried all the troubleshoots still nothing
Same problem here ...

Help
Same here. Shows black splash screen "Microids", then disappears. I use a Win 10 HP laptop.
Same error but on Win10 22H2, tried compatibility mode settings, running as administrator, adding DEP exception (for both amerzone.exe and game.exe) as suggested in the other threads - no luck at all. :(

EDIT: Also tried using dgVoodoo2, no dice. Game shows a splash screen but refuses to launch.

Same on Windows 11.. nothing solves the startup crash issue

Do you have multi-monitors (even a TV)? If its off, it will actually show up there in a small window and lock the mouse to the other monitor (CTRL + ALT + DEL > task manager > end the game). Can for example, unplug the other monitor and it will work. This is the only issue I'm seeing on Windows 11. It looks like its crashing when the other display is off, but is not in this case.

Because of that, it appears that the game seems to have some sort of monitor/resolution related issue (two monitors for example kind of equals a larger resolution... the game could be seeing something odd, not something a normal user would expect), so wouldn't be surprised if someone might see some other issue in there. I tested with 1080p monitor.

Other possibilities could exist such as interfering software or OS security. I don't actually expect everyone here to be seeing the exact same issue, and all might even be different.

Give it what it wants, it works. If you can :)

Wont even start beyond the splash screen (no amerzone.exe, no game.exe), single 1080p monitor on a 5900X+7900XTX system.
As mentioned, tried DEP exclusions, disabling UAC, no other security triggers afaik (i.e. I've checked AV and firewall logs - nothing).

I've got a pretty decent (and recapped) Pentium 4 WinXP machine next to my main rig, so I'll try the game on that when I've got time. :)

UPDATE: It ran fine on my 3GHz P4 Prescott (with a Matrox Parhelia card and 1GB RAM) running Windows XP SP3, from the GOG Installer to the game itself, no issues whatsoever. So it's not the actual release of the game, but rather some compatibility issue with modern systems.
