I have a Xbox One controller with the USB dongle. This has worked perfectly in almost every game, but Alwa's Legacy, despite saying Controller Recommended, appears to not work with it. No button or stick has any effect once the main menu comes up. I can use the keyboard to navigate to settings, remap controller, but again, nothing works. Also, the keyboard controls are not intuitive.
The controller worked perfectly in the previous game, Alwa's Awakening.
I've tried unplugging and replugging the controller receiver in, and even tried using a Micro-USB cable to use the controller as a wired controller. It is not working.
I also tried connecting a PS4 controller, and that also does not work.
Win 10 64-bit Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.329)
UPDATE: I haven't found a fix, but I used gamepad button remapper (Rewasd.com) as a workaround. Hoping this bug gets fixed since ReWASD is trial-ware.
SOLVED!!!!
I actually already completed the game, using ReWASD to remap the controller. However, yesterday, while troubleshooting another problem, I discovered I had 2 such virtual joystick drivers installed. VJOY and something called VMULTIA HID. I don't remember installing either of them, so I removed them. And just now tried Alwa's Legacy again, and for the first time it worked immediately with the Xbox One controller. Very strange, since I have tons of other games installed, and hadn't had that particular issue before.
