Any way to adjust the brightness for this game? I see no options in game and simply turning my monitor brightness down leaves the game still looking really washed out.

Not sure about this game but if you have an ati(I think) or nividia card you can go into the control panel and mess about with the gamma and brightness there. Its a bit of an annoying way to do it though.
