Since alone in the dark 1-3 are using dosbox will there ever be a linux release? I've tried using wine with the windows version, but it runs extremely slow.

Why dont you use dosbox for linux and use the dos files? using dosbox over wine its like using an emulator on top of an emulator (not that any of those is an emulator), the performance wont be optimal at all.

My recommendation is to use DosBox too... even if there was a Linux version. You can install Windows 3.1 inside a DosBox folder and install the games there (that would allow you to play many more games), Like Civ2, etc. Just install the windows version, and use the CD images
