i'm loving it at the moment, especially the new maps that can be played, but I was just wondering whether you are going to add lan back into the game? just like the good old days

I really hope we are allowed to play 'off-line' over LAN in the future. I was bit disappointed when I found out that is not the case.

The game feels more 'Steam-like' and less DRM-free than I would like. I can understand it if it is the case now, when they are testing their Galaxy service, but I have no need for second Steam.
It won't be a second steam... their offline mode should actually work :P

I was bit afraid that you are going to say that it will be third Steam, because Second Steam is already Origin:)

Well, so far it is working, but it seems like the game is launching a launcher first and I hope that optional client will be more optional in the future. I came to gog because I had bad experience with similar setup too many times.

Anyway, sometimes I do not have good internet connection and the LAN is the only option for me. I mean optional client for multiplayer is great (I do not care about friends, achievements... maybe updates, but if it works I usually do not see the need for update).
another thing, how do you actually add and play with friends?

The version on the GoG Galaxy installer was something like v0.1, which means that it's no-where close to being feature-complete yet. I think that what we're doing right now is testing it in its barest, most skeletal form, without much of a real interface, and just making sure that the online multiplayer actually works and can handle lots of people playing at once, before they move on to adding everything else to it. So, I think those are likely features that will be added in later in development, and right now we're just stress-testing the servers and reporting bugs. No sense in adding friends if the games' online multiplayer doesn't work first, yes? :)
