It is my very first beta-testing, so maybe I am doing something wrong, but I tried to connect to 4 lobbies and I could not. I waited for about 30 seconds and then disconnected.
Tried hosting a game, no one connected, but the game runs smoothly.

Also, I am not sure if it is multiplayer related, but is there any way to exit the "command menu" (Y button)?

It could be a firewall issue. I was having this same problem, so on a hunch I temporarily set my firewall to "allow all traffic" mode and it let me connect. As far as I can tell, everything on my firewall should be allowing the game + galaxy client out. I am using an F-Secure based firewall.
