GOG was asking for comments on AVP mulltiplay, so I'm posting my comments here on a new thread, since there didn't seem to be any general feedback venue. I won't mind if this post is moved to a common comment thread.

The single.player game itself is as good as I recalled, one of the best FPS's ever made! I really appreciate that GOG made this game work on modern OSes.

Regarding the multiplayer experience:

- It's really easy to join online games. I don't usually play online games, so low-entry is really positive!
- The game seems much too biased. I killed several players as an alien with no trouble at my first try,, but as a marine, I had a hard time even wounding an alien or predator, let alone killing them. I don't know if GOG has changed anything, but I don't remember the marine being this disadvantaged in multiplayer. Although not the strongest character, the marine is supposed to have the most powerful weapons.
- The game I most recently played kept restarting, resetting the score. The game frequently said that it's waiting for the host to restart the game.

Seriously, the forum is flooded with separate feedback threads.

Marines have several weapons which can kill an alien and some even a predator with one shot. Sounds like you were playing a Last Man Standing game. It's meant to work that way. The game is finished when all marines are killed. The host restarts the game with a different player as the alien. The score is reset when every player has started as the alien once.

Edit: It's Last Man Standing of course. ;)
