I been trying to get to the MP aspect of this game, but it does not work at all... i got my modem Firewall and my AntiVirus Firewall completely off, heck i been port fowarding for years but every single time i click in Multiplayer i get a "Failed to initialize.".

It`s just not working... i downloaded the game from my library in GoG, maybe that`s the problem? do i need to download the game from a different link or something? i also don`t see any Galaxy Client or any way to let the game update, this is just so confusing...

I'm at the same spot, mate. Hope to get help form the Support.

Yea been trying to host games for the last 30 min or so without anyone joining, and none are showing up in the server list anymore >_<

Got it to work, i uninstalled the game completely, then went over to my Library and selected to download the GOG Downloader and installed it, then i run it and downloaded the AlienVSPredator game through the GOG Downloader, after it finished a small window pop up and said GOG LAuncher, it updated the Game and i can now finally play no issues.

Yea you can launch that from the start menu, it's called "Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000 - Galaxy Client". It says it's up to date for me =\ still doesn't work.

This happens to me sometimes and I either wait until it decides to work or quit the game and open it again.

Check your Start Menu, there you will find two shortcuts for AvP. One ends in - Galaxy Client
Try specifically starting this, it should launch the beta client and update the game after which you can start it from the client. Expect a few extra firewall prompts for the client.

Downloading from the library is correct, the problem seems to be the beta client. Either it's not launching correctly or it's tripping up over Anti Virus or firewall sofware.

MP is a bit wonky atm. Sometimes no matches can be found for a few minutes even though i know people are playing.

Started working again for me, not really sure what changed. Oh well! Damn preds are hard to catch!

As for me, "I still get the Failed to initialize." message when I click on Multiplayer. And before that, before I even launch the game or the GOG Launcher (updated) appears, I have an error window titled Galaxy Updater failed when I click on Aliens vs Predator 2000 - Galaxy Client. It says :

"Galaxy Updater encoutered an error and could not continue: Updater could not download update metadata."

I don't know what to do. I think I followed your instructions. I have already set no restrictions from my firewall TinyWall for GOG Galaxy and AvP, run Aliens vs Predator 2000 - Galaxy Client as Administrator and uninstalled both the client and the game before to install them again.

I won't be of much help for the beta. :(
