i was super young back then so it was a burned disc from the high seas that my bigger brother gave me ;)

the soundtrack was the album point blank by nailbomb :D

guess the tracks were switched somehow but i already asked my brother and he said it came that way when he downloaded it ages ago

game was a blast to play that way ... id really like to recreate this experience

It is a good game. After playing this the Alien became my spirit animal.
In the original AVP release the soundtrack came on a second music CD that the game simply played while you were in game. If you put in a different CD from the drive, it would play that instead.

The file "CD Tracks.txt" was included to let you select different tracks and different orders to be played in each level. This was mainly to allow for more appropriate music when using other CDs, or to allow you to have the game go through the whole disc rather than using only the 5 tracks devoted to each species. This file is still present in the GOG release, but it doesn't seem to do anything. You can put a different CD in the drive and the original game's music will still play.
