I have tried multiplier, so far i haven't encountered any problems. I am getting speeds up to 60 FPS even on my netbook.

Me too, so far, so good; perhaps, just a bit of lag when engaging in melee, but nothing that I haven't seen during other online games.
Technically the game works fine. Gameplay wise it seems so incredibly unbalanced. I joined a server with one Predator and they had so many more kills then anyone else. Over 3x more. And I finally found out why... the freaking disc. I got killed literally every time with the disk and so did everyone else on the GOG server. Not to mention its supposed to be species DM but with friendly fire an no penalty to devolves into DM. So far a waste of my time :/. I hope GOG can get some better games into the beta.

I love the idea and the online platform but the game is a definite pass for me.

Change match. That easy. Host controls legal weapons, friendly fire and even points. You were in a bad match but the host probably didnt know how to setup a better one. It's early days yet. Hope you have a better experience if you decide to give it another go.

Also, many people dont realise that they're in a species DM ;)
Easy to panic and shoot at everything.

Yeah. I thought that since it was labeled a GOG server settings like that would have been flipped on but I suppose anyone could have labeled it. I had never played the game before today and even I knew what SDM means lol. For testing Galaxy I suppose its just as good as any other game. I hope it takes off. Id love to see a DRM free Steam competitor for multi-player.

EDIT: I am a bigger fan of the sequel however and would love to see the Gold edition on GOG with multi-player. I noticed that there is a wishlist request from several fans but there is probably some licensing issue preventing its release here :/. Its unfortunate. Especially since boxed copies are difficult to find are are costly.

Also found out there is no dedicated server software making games very inconsistent :/. I wanted to host one with some tweaked settings but do not want to run the full client and take up a player slot :(.

Watch this guy's videos on server settings and host your own with no disc or FF. Hooray!

Yeah I did host a few games but quickly found the lack of dedicated server software an issue. I don't like starting a game and hoping people would join. I would rather start a dedicated server for a while then join when its got a few people. Not only that but I cannot seem to switch my species when I host a game without closing the server :/.

Well, I think the predator's disk has always been overpowered since the original game anyways. I haven't played too many species DM yet with this release, but back in the day, it was really just a matter of trying to spot the guy (flares and night vision helps), and then fire off a few rounds of minigun into his chest/face to even the odds. Still a pain in the butt though, but glorious once you get used to it.

I recall running around in areas where his disk can't reach an effective way to dealing with them as well. Narrow corridors and near pillar and walls are typically the best places to slay a predator.

Yeah it's annoying to wait around in an empty game for ages, but on the plus side, you don't close the server when you leave -- it migrates to someone else. You might not be able to see it in the server list afterward though because it can only show 10 games at a time. =/

Oh wow. Is the migration seamless? Like if the host leaves does the game continue uninterrupted or does it do the Call of Duty-ish thing where it shows a message and you have to wait. I've never seen it happen so Idk. If so that's pretty damn impressive.

It just says "this machine is now host" if you get picked as the new host, everyone else just keeps playing like nothing happened. I've seen it stutter every once in a while when a really laggy host leaves, but that's it. Crazy for a game that old, right? =p

Yeah lol. That is damn impressive. Now if only we can see more than ten games...
