Hello does anyone know if theres a way to lower the ridiculous brith rate the nations gold have ?
its totally stupid to have 2 child being spawned right after couple gets married and grab a new house, it was totally diffrent in Alien Nations 2 which is basically the same game, if anyone knows let me know.
I know it's a bit late, but before starting a whole new thread here I have to concurr.
The "birth rate" (more like instant child spawning) is completely bonkers.

In fact IIRC, new births *almost* exclusively happened with the beginning of a new ingame day, probably because of the major simulated time passage. So there has to be something that makes the game think a huge amount of time has passed the instant a couple is married and gets a house.

My theory would be that for some reason the birth timer is not coupled to the normal ingame timer, but instead to the CPU clock or something like that. This would certainly explain this weird behaviour on modern systems.

Could this be a possibility? And is there any way this could be fixed by GOG or even at home with a couple of tweaks?

Yes you can try adjust the settings in taskmanager, under processes, and try set affinity and select 1 cpu core, i am not sure if this helps
