Played this irritating game years ago, thought i would try again. Still just as irritating. I can't even find the option to rest.. Read the manual which only says to choose rest in the menue. After playing for a while the rest option is no longer available. Now my characters, Tom and Rainer, are exhausted and cannot move. No option to rest. Nothing can be done.

You can only rest in dungeons and on the world map.
In towns you are expected to visit the inn.

Are they exhausted or just overloaded with items ?
