My first impression is that this is probably the strangest (weirdest? oddest?) game I've ever tried to play. I somehow managed to get out of the Cellar but I cannot figure out where to connect the hose to put out the fire, and I've been at it for nearly 2 hours. So far this game doesn't look or feel or play anything like it looked like it was going to when I watched the trailer.
Well, admittedly, the trailer can be -- and is -- a bit deceiving... there isn't much shooting action to be had with Albedo, at least not until the part I'm at. But the game has always been also advertised as a "leave-the-room" adventure title, and that's where the bulk of the gameplay lies. You go from one room to another, from area to area, having to figure out how to leave the one you're currently in, while occasionally fighting some eyeball aliens with whatever weapons you can get.

Some of the puzzles are a bit devious, I'll give you that, but as someone who grew up playing mostly point-and-click adventure games, I have to say I'm a bit used to the strange logic of those kinds of puzzles and I never bought Albedo thinking I was purchasing a shooter, so, I'm pretty happy with it. Escape the room adventures are not my favourite adventure games -- in fact, to be completely honest, I don't think they rank that much higher than hidden object games --, but Albedo manages to add that extra something I can't quite put my finger on; maybe it's the whole sci-fi pulp B-movie vibe, maybe it's the fact some of the rooms soon become bigger areas and the puzzles get less claustrophobic and more open-ended, maybe it's because the shooting parts work surprisingly well and they offer some distraction from all the thinking of the puzzle-solving, I don't know.

As a side note, though, a YouTube video I watched of some guy playing through the game showcased some sort of bug with the hose and the bucket in the room you're at, and he had to restart the game to get rid of it... I didn't think too much of that because he was playing the Steam Early Access version and I thought that would probably be addressed and solved by the time the proper game was released, but maybe that's what you're experiencing.

I bought this game for the puzzle aspects of it, not as a shooter. Only "shooter" type games I've ever played were the 3 Max Payne games and they were a lot of fun. What I consider really strange compared to how it seemed in the trailer is the way inventory is accessed and objects are highlighted and used. I suppose I'll get used to it as I get further along.

Quite possibly there is a bug, because I went back into the first room in case I missed something, and when I return to the corridor the stupid hose is flailing around and/or tied in knots. I've reloaded a save from the first room and the hose lies on the floor until I try to use it and then it goes nuts again.

But you mention a bucket and I don't recall seeing one anywhere. Since it is very early in the game, starting over won't be that difficult. Hopefully I can get the fire out so I can continue into the next area.

I'll add something here if I get past this area.

***Edit

I restarted the game and it seemed to resolve 2 bugs. There was the one with the wriggling hose that I'd mentioned, and this time the location for connecting the hose became visible. And of course, I found the bucket as well. I'm trying to pick the padlock at the moment. I'm getting used to the interface and beginning to enjoy the game.

Got as far as the cave then gave up on it. Didn't like how picky the game is with the placement of the bucket to solve a puzzle. The game wouldn't let me pick up the shotgun until I danced around it a few times trying to get the indicator to change. I hit skip on Esophagus because I didn't understand why I kept dying. Then I was in a cave with mushrooms that I couldn't find a use for. Apparently it's not health which was what I really needed. The character kept saying he needed to shut down the generator despite that being 6 rooms back. I've also had a treat in my inventory that never served a purpose.
Well, I'm now stuck in generator room with the alien I can't kill, no matter how many times I hit it with the shears, or screwdriver, the only weapons I have. Did I miss the shotgun in a previous room? Character keeps saying to use Jefferies hand to distract alien, but if I throw it across room I barely have time to open manhole, never mind getting the glove or the helmet, before it comes back and kills me. I either need the hand to open the exit door, or time to replace battery in helmet to go into the sewer.

Yeah, I'm ready to give up on this game.

Toss the hand in a corner, run to the other stairs. There's a snail here you can use to repeatedly distract it. Also eat the snail for health. Get the gloves and helmet. Examine the helmet and use screwdriver to remove battery. Replace with battery and spring from previous room. Fill glove with oxygen. Open manhole and jump down.

Thanks for the clues, but I had finally figured out how to distract the alien long enough to get down the manhole on my own, although I never thought of oxygen in the glove. That would have been handy when I was trying to free the pump underwater. I finally got past that, and the beluga whale in the generator room, and got into the tunnel. BTW, the snails boosted my HP 5 each, up to 44.

In the tunnel, I keep getting killed by something I can't see when I move past the bluish crystal. Obviously I'm once again missing something and I'll have to think on it and likely get killed another 12,000 times before I give up again lol

****Edit

So I got to the end of the tunnel, without getting killed again, found the trowel/bucket and the backpack. I got the disk from the pack, but now I have nowhere to go. Can't go forward, and I went back several rooms to the elevator but there's no place else to go. The beer I drank near the radio put my HP back to 100 so the trip back wasn't a waste after all, but I really don't have any idea what to do once I get back to the tunnel.

In the sewer room when the bridge fell, there was a hammer and a toolbox on it. look in the water.
There's an offshoot of the tunnel. The wall at the end has some loose bricks.
In case you didn't see it. The tablet has fingerprints on it if you look from different angles.

Not related to any puzzle. You can also fill the glove with helium and change the characters voice.

Well, I finally decided the side passage in the tunnel had to be the way out. The trowel is useless, and I tried throwing bricks at the end wall. Since there doesn't seem to be a "hot spot" anywhere in the side tunnel, there isn't anywhere to 'combine' the hammer with so I chose the 'Fight' option and hit everywhere on the wall I could reach, and finally gave up that route.

Then I read your post and decided I must be missing something (again) and went back into the side tunnel and hit every break on the sides of the walls and at the end with the hammer, at least twice, and nothing happens. Should there be a hot spot on the end wall? If so, then my game is buggy and there's no way I can continue.
Combine disk with tablet.
Guess code using fingerprints.
In side passage knock bricks out by swinging hammer.
I think that's all there is to it, at least I can't think of anything else related to getting out of that area.

First impression: The American dub is FANTASTIC! Almost every delivery is wrong and completely subverts expectations. It makes me feel like the player character has some kind of disorder and can not grasp terror and urgency, just like how most 50's sci-fi was poorly written and directed and a little bit embarassing to sit through. The British dub I have only briefly tried and it is alright, but I feel that the theme of the game is better off with an American "actor" seeing as this is borrowing so much from American 50's sci-fi garbage.

I guess maybe this helps alleviate the stress inducing game play for me. The controls are fine, but the game is a bit of a chore to play. Very busy art direction that doesn't intuitively clue you in on what objects are interactive or not so you have to scan the frame over and over and even then you can not be sure you didn't miss something the first time around as you may have been just out of range for the object to highlight. This is a weird point and click adventure seen from a first person perspective, if I were to deconstruct the experience so far. The theme really is what draws me in, I keep going because I want to see what happens next. I am starting to worry that I'm not going to like the ending however. Will have to press on with the awkward American dub as a motivator however and see this thing through to the end!
