I am a big - a very big - Alan Wake Fan and have played both games numerous times.
I have bough the retail CE of Alan Wake which includes a few making ofs , the musicvideo from poets of the fall and trailers on two seperate DVDs. However here on the site it is stated that this version contains 9 episodes from night spring and 7 writer in the cabin videos. What exactly are these and how long are these. Are these the same night spring episodes you can find on numerous TVs in the game? Do the writer in the cabin videos shed more light to the twisted and fascinating story of Alan Wake? In which format are the videos? Is this or some of this material available for free? For me it would be all about the bonus material since I already own this game but really like the story and background.
The "Writer in the cabin" series is the show you see on TV in the game where Alan is observed while writing the story. This series was published online before the game was released. Each clip is about a minute long. The Night Springs episodes are also the ones you see in the game. I don't know the exact codec but all files use the .avi extension.

One thing of note is that all the videos are rendered at 30fps, where as in the game they appear compressed to about 15fps.

The only really worthwhile extra is the "Alan Wake Files" ebook which fleshes out the story and makes sense of the man killed in the first nightmare as well as the FBI agent.

Thank you - so all video clips are already in the game - in not so good quality but they are in the game. Regarding "Alan Wake Files" - this was contained as a real little book in my CE so I don't need it either. Hmmm ... I think I will pass and wait for Alan Wake 2.
