Hello,

STEAM has been offering a soundtrack with the game, but as I see GOG still doesn't have one. Can you please try to include a soundtrack for both the Alan Wake titles (This and American Nightmare)?

Regards,
Archis.
BUMP.
I think GOG was trying to include the soundtrack. But it's not possible because buying the Collector's Edition on STEAM would lost all the sense.

Alan Wake cost 28€ on STEAM and 30$ on GOG. If you want the ingame developer commentary, Alan Wake Files book in PDF and soundtrack you have to pay another 10€ on STEAM for this stuff. But on GOG you already have the ingame developer commentary, PDF book and moreover making of videos, writer in the cabin videos and night springs episodes (from which 2 or 3 are exclusive only for GOG version).

So adding soundtrack to GOG version would make it superior and much cheaper than the STEAM version. And calling a STEAM version Collector's Edition after that would lost all the sense. Let's leave them the soundtrack and be happy with all the bonuses which are in the GOG version for a very good price. I personally bought the retail CE which contains the soundtrack and also the GOG version because it's DRM Free. :)

I would love for them to have had the sound track but they said they couldn't get it in the deal for whatever reason. It could still happen down the line, but its not looking so good right now.

Many people have expressed a desire for the ST. I'm sure GOG feels adequate pressure to try and produce it, and not having it isn't from a lack of desire or effort on their part. Its too bad really. I was thinking of buying the OST but the possibility that it could just show up one day keeps me from doing it.

Thanks for replying, you almost sounded like a GOG representative (A compliment).

And yes, I understand the reason behind not releasing the soundtrack, but again GOG has many deals better than STEAM. Take Unreal Tournament 2004 for example: It costs $14.99 on STEAM and $9.99 here.

Anyways, It would be great if a soundtrack is possible since the music is awesome. If not, I can understand why.

Thanks for your compliment :D
By the way if I remember correctly, you can at least play any song you want somewhere from the game menu. :)
well the music exists in the install folder in one form or another... as an example i was able to find all the music Front Line Assembly wrote and produced for Quake 3 Arena by finding a decompression utility for the game files...

the same way modders decompress .MPQ files for Diablo to mod them
Same here. Being generally a fan of soundtracks, especially video game OSTs, I'd love to have the Alan Wake soundtrack but I understand that with the current model GOG cannot include it. But I guess sooner or later GOG will have to introduce some ways to "expand" your package if they want to continue selling new games that will receive DLC later on. So who knows, maybe GOG will find a way to give us the soundtrack.

That's music to my ears, pun intended.
So why can't we have the soundtrack on GOG?
Well I guess the game developers isn't in that generous mood yet. I've seen GOG updating really old releases with new extras, so I am really patient for this one.
I'd really like to get the American Nightmare soundtrack even if I already downloaded it from youtube.
