I thought I could put this undemanding game on my antique laptop but the game demands DirectX 9.0c and this thing only supports DX8.1 & OpenGL1.4 :-( The game came out before DX9 was a thing so why? Part of the process to make it work on modern computers as well?

Note: I did not buy it yet on GOG so cannot just try it anyway.

DX9.0c only must be installed, your graphics card can still support 8.1 only.

i dont recall the original release needing dx 9.0 c , in fact i was playing it on windows 98 back in the day so , i think it needed dx6.0 or dx 8 at the max.

maybe they increased the requirements for the deluxe edition
