(EDIT: Sorry this question is related to AoW 3. Apologies)

Hello all! I Was just looking at both the steam/GOG store pages and both versions look great, especially with the included multiplayer :) Besides the obvious things like steam achievements, trading cards, etc. I noticed that a level editor is included in the steam version. looking at the GOG store page I can't find any mention if its going to be included in our version or if its something special they are doing to integrate it with the steam workshop?

Would anyone know? I prefer to buy all my games off GOG.com, but I also love to make maps and tinker a bit in modding. This could decide where I buy this. Any help appreciated!!! :)

I don't know why it wouldn't. Neither Triumph nor GOG are stingy with these things. Triumph knows that a number of it's fans prefer GOG, as was discussed on the official forum.

I don't think anyone knows here. However it would be most logical to have a level editor on GOG's version. It would not fit with GOG to have less content than Steam. Besides, you make a map, save the map on your computer and upload the file somewhere. Then create a topic here like 'post your customized maps here'. And everyone can link their maps on that topic. It's really not hard to do at all. I think it's even harder to integrate it in Steam's network of sharing amongst users, hence why they advertise it like that.

That being said, don't take my word for it. I am as much in the dark as you.
I decided to go with the GOG version. After a pretty long internal debate with myself it all came down to the fact that once I buy on GOG i own the game. Like back in the good old days. I can take the files, put them on a DVD/flash drive and install on my offline laptop if I want with no hassle. Makes sense to me, plus I want to support GOG.com as much as a possibly can. If Triumph sees good sales from here more AAA games will see it and want to be on GOG.com. Its also nice that multiplayer if I chose to play it is also available to all versions. It'll just require an optional account through Triumph.

And as always if I do not like the game for some reason the 30 day money back doesn't hurt either. :)

You might want to read that again.

I was speaking in regards to this line in the FAQ for the 30 day returns. If something comes up that I don't like about it. I'm good to go. :)

8. What about pre-orders?
You can cancel pre-orders at any time before the game's release, and get the money back.

Carry on then. Though, AFAIK, you could always cancel pre-orders from GOG.
ut of curiosity for those of you that have the game does it come with a level/map editor?
Yes it does! The .exe can be found in the game directory.

It does but it's buggy. Some templates are not working I think. I get 10 'cannot stream' errors. But it does seem to work.
It is rather luxurious. Different types of the same terrain thing. 3 different mountain tiles, stuff like that. I am just looking at it now.

Oh and you don't need any account for it. Just to clarify. An account is only needed if you will play online or lan with friends.
