Hi guys. So I downloaded and installed the game just fine, created triumph account, set my settings and pressed play. Now for the strange part. The game process starts but the launcher hangs up. I have to use the task manager to shut down the launcher and only then the game starts and I'm logged into my online account too. So it's annoying but not game breakingly annoying. Anyone has similar problem?
Try disabling or deleting videos.

Can't really find video files, but the triumph studio's logo plays fine, after I shut down the launcher
I had a similar problem with Avast! Antivirus causing a similar situation with the launcher. I disconnected from the Internet (for safety reasons) and disabled Avast! which seems to have fixed the issue for me. If your Antivirus software is interfering you can add the game's installation directory to your Antivirus software's exclusion list.

If not then good luck with this issue and please post a fix if you find it. Issues usually effect more than one person.

i also use avast antivirus and i make an exception for every game i install. look at the settings menue to create and exception for the installation folder. you can find the option under the active file protection / scanning settings.

That's not good enough.

I have other problems. If we put them together, maybe we can form captain planet.

Are you saying Avast! is not a good enough antivirus program, or the information Xerberus86 has provided is not good enough?

You can also run the Age of Wonders 3 executable directly (on my system it defaulted to installing at C:\GOG Games\Age of Wonders III\AoW3.exe). However, not using the launcher has some issues like using the Guest profile and default audio and video options. You should be able to use the Profile settings ComboBox and Options screen to change these settings, but this is probably more of a pain than doing what Ravinius says he does in his original post.

If he can figure out what the command line options the launcher delivers are then he can just make a launch.bat file to run the game.

I'd recommend closing it completely. You aren't going to get a virus if you aren't opening any new executables.
Ok tried to give full internet access to the launcher through firewall, but it didn't help. I'll try some other things tomorrow. That said the game runs wonderfully and I'm glad that the units still have tons of passive and active abilities just like in previous AoW titles

Here, just for you (and anyone else who is interested).

And today the launcher worked without any problems. I haven't done anything to it so I chalk it up to windows deciding to not like me yesterday. Anyways thread can be closed.
