I have this problem: a few days ago I installed the game. It ran ok until today. Then, out of the blue, this problem occurred: when I launch the game, at the top-right corner of the screen a small, intermittent box quickly counting the FPS appears (see screenshot). It doesn't go away as I load the game and try to play. Moreover, since this has appeared, I cannot move around in the map any longer, meaning that when I scroll the mouse towards the edge of the screen the map does not change making it impossible to play (whereas the little box with the FPS would only be bothering, but not really play-impairing). What is wrong? I tried to restart the computer, update and even re-install the game, but nothing, it doesn’t go away. It seems to be a resolution or screen problem, but the truth is that I have no clue.
What puzzles me is that this really happened out of the blue: no modification or change were made to the game or pc settings. It simply suddenly and for no reason started not to function properly any more, and I cannot understand what triggered this, nor do I know how to fix it.

Sounds like an overlay from nVidia or a similar graphics program. Has nothing to do with AoW:SM... I'd look at the software associated with your graphics card which may have updated recently without you knowing it.

You can also move the screen around using the arrow keys.
