siddham: Well in AoW2 your leader is a Wizard, not a warrior
You have heroes for the battle fields; and they can become very powerful too
Personally I like the Wizard tower mechanic in AoW2
The problem is some of them were warriors before, and suddenly they start growing fat. Then again... I really love the 'godlike wizard' vibe - turing whole world into ice. Because. ^.^

And in AoW3, Julia is a warrior again.

(Are there any other leaders who feature in all 3 AoW games? Meandor doesn't appear in 3, Melenis doesn't appear in 2. I think. Ham Binger might qualify, but he's a hero, not a leader.)

Yup, and for balance purpose she's lvl1. :D

About leaders... Merlin? :) Other than that? No, I don't remember anyone who survived all this.
EDIT: <brain process.exe failed>
He wasn't there in the AoW1...

One of my favourite things about AoW1 is that Merlin isn't in it.

Although, to be fair, I have nothing against the "wise old wandering wizard" trope as seen in AoW3, where he is a side character at best anyway. But I really didn't like him as a protagonist in the original AoW2. Partially because I just didn't care for his character, but mostly because of the name. Merlin should stick with King Arthur and that lot.

I was going to ask if you don't like the 'chosen one' thingy... But nvm. :D

B-but whenver I take them outside their magic wand shrink and are less effective! D:
I think bormac orcsbane has featured in all three games as a hero.
