Hi I have a toshiba nb200 upgraded to 2gb ram anyone have any idea if this would run on it? I have been seeing this game all over the place the last 2 weeks and have kept picking it up, putting it down.
Thanks
It probably will work although I'll make no guarantees. But from my experience with my (pre-Atom) netbook the only real worry with games as old as Age of Wonders is the resolution. And I think you can play Age of Wonders all the way down to 640x480. The later games in the series starts at 800x600. unless your netbook is very different from mine you'll be able to go to 1024x600. I won't guarantee that you can run it in that resolution but you might be able to.
I play Age of wonders II Shadow magic on a net book and it works perfectly well.
Although it works on 800x600 I would recommend 1024x768.
I actually prefer to play it in 720 X 480 which is 640 X 480 for widescreen monitors. 800 x 600 makes the artwork too small for me and my 14 inch monitor.
Of course that is just a personal preference on how to view the artwork. With a higher resolution you get a better strategic view.
Sometime in the future when I buy a new computer with a 24 or + inch monitor I will probably double my resolution :-)
A great thing about Age of Wonders is that it natively supports widescreen resolutions.
One little bug though is that I first have to change to 800 X 600 and then to 720 X 480.
This is on the cd version.
There is a demo version out:

Mine's working perfectly on a MSI Wind @1.66Ghz and 2Gb of RAM, but I would advise setting it on 640x480, especially if you have a conventionnal 1024x600 netbook screen, otherwise you won't see anything.
