I played AoW3 earlier on a Guest Account and got through the first campaign mission, and I quit on the map screen. I managed to create a Triumph account after, and I copied the Guest Saves over to my new profile and renamed them so they carried over. This worked fine, except I don't seem to have made any progress since my last save. My custom hero is still there, and I've unlocked the campaigns, but it's putting me back into the first mission. I don't really want to do the final fight again.

Does it not save your progress after a campaign map? Do you have to manually do it in the next one for it to stick?

The save game is attached to the guest profile, now that you've changed over to using a normal profile, you'll need to move the save file into the new profile's folder.

You should be able to find the old save in:

C:\Users\<Your Windows Account Name>\Documents\My Games\AoW3\Profiles\GUEST[OFFLINE]\SAVES

You need to copy the .ASG and .ACG files to:

C:\Users\<Your Windows Account Name>\Documents\My Games\AoW3\Profiles\<Your Triumph Studios Account Name>\SAVES
I did that, but whilst I had the autosave from the previous map, there was no way to get into the next campaign.
Oh, I'm sorry, I'm tired and I misread your post.

If you want to skip the last fight, it's probably easiest to just cheat:

1) Load your save game
2) While on the world map, press CTRL+ALT+C
3) Type: HEIN
4) Press Enter

That should autocomplete the scenario for you and let you continue. It sounds like you started the 2nd campaign map but didn't actually save there?

Also, please note that the HEIN cheat is very dangerous to use. It completes the map, but skips out a ton of scripted events and things, so if you use it at the wrong time, you might get weird bugs in the next campaign map, because you skipped some important conversation or something like that. In this case, I think it's safe though.

I ended up just going back through the fight.

What I did - initially - was I finished that fight, and got through to the 'campaign map' where you select the settings for the next map, i.e. difficulty, etc., and I quit at that point. If you do that then it seems like the game doesn't have any facility to put you back where you were, it's either start a new campaign or get back to that point.

Which seems a bit silly.
Yeah, the game apparently doesn't make a save when you complete a campaign, leaving you in the situation you found yourself in :(

Oh well, at least you only had to replay the last fight and not the whole campaign.

That is true.

I have, however, just had to go through the OST and fix the tagging ;)

Edit: I marked the console code fix as the 'solution', though it's more a workaround. So thank you!

There will also be a unique savegame that automatically saves when winning a campaign map for you.
It will come in a patch.
