Hello,
I've installed Wine 1.3.25 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. AoW's installer works fine in Wine, but when I start the game I can only sometimes get to the startup screen (I checked "skip intro" in Settings), and even then the sound is garbled/muted and the game would randomly terminate with an access violation error.
Does anyone have experience running AoW in Wine and can help??

I am hoping for a more pure solution that runs in Wine, but I will also bring my question to your linked AoW forum to see if someone there has figured it out.
In the meantime, if somebody here knows how to do it please do tell!

Another option if you get no joy that way is to use some Virtual PC software.

With this you would be able to run say Windows XP in a Mac window. The copy of Windows would then work like it was on a normal PC and any Windows dependent software would work as intended (including Aow).
