I'm playing Shadow Magic, trying to do the campaign and in particular the 'easy' mission Horn of Kesh... I've managed to get to turn 20 now and fend off the orcs coming from the west only to find some flying yellow bastards in a huge stack of enemies come from the east (despite them being friends after I killed a sphinx type enemy and freeing some of their hobbits or whatever).

I either over defend one route to my town or I cover the roads too thinly on both sides and am doubly damned.

Any hints to get me started? It does seem good fun if I could just get a handle on what I should be doing....
From where you move your town too, south east of there is a sphynx and a halfling, kill the sphynx and you will get a pioneer unit and an alliance with Marinas, there is a ruined city there you can rebuild with the pioneer unit, alternatively, move south from your new city and there are two skull looking ruins located near there, defeat each one to get alliances with the orcs (western most) and halflings (eastern most)...

If you have killed the sphynx, marinas should be allied with you and therefore wont attack you even if he is sending units in your direction...

After you kill the first bunch of orcs that you see right from the get go, you shouldnt have to worry about town defense, when i did it, no units even threatened my town...
