Also, if you left-lick and then right click a unit's movement number you deselect all units except that one. It's a handy shortcut if you want to separate only one unit. It helps to read the manual for this game, at least the first chapters about controls and interface. I know the manuals are not included, but you can find them all on Replacementdocs.com for the entire series.

Thanks, Greyhuntr, and HiPhish you guys are lifesavers. I knew it was going to be something easy, but it was so frustrating. I kept clicking on the characters portraits. left click right click, i even clicked every letter on the keyboard to see if anything would happen. I would have never thought to click on the numbers below them. I really wish it did come with a manuel, because I am sure it must say. I will check out the link you gave sometime over the weekend. I actually probably won't be giving another go on this until monday, because I work long hours on weekends, and get most weekdays off. I am sure just that little bit of info will go a long way, as I was very limited in what i could do without being able to do that.

So thanks again! I am sure I will be back here on monday or tuesday with more questions.
Does the GOG version really come with no manual?
That's very disappointing. I though GOG was better than that.
Yeah, all three games come without manuals, which is really annoying with for such a kind of game. Maybe they didn't get the manual, maybe they don't have the rights, who knows, but luckily all the manuals are avaible at Replacementdocs, so it's not a big deal. It would be more convenient to have them all here though.

You know, the tutorial tell you how to split troops as well ;)

Really? I tried a tutorial twice, and it didn't tell me... then again, I didn't stay with the tutorial that long each time...its also a shame that the scenario in the tutorial is completely different than the one in campaign.

Anyways, thanks for the help, and I look forward to playing the game again on monday.

It looks like most of the games on GOG do, but not this series I guess

It's a copyright issue I think. Somehow the rights to AoW is separated from the manual.
You will be happy to know that I passed the first level. Thanks to all that helped. I am now starting the northern trade route.
