AoW3 was one of the few games I felt obligated to pay full price for based on my super cheap enjoyment of AoW:SM.

While I'd love to add it to my collection, I'm unlikely to join the competitive community. Someone else may be a better choice.

The Campaigns are little tough and as most Turn Based campaigns, somewhat railroaded. AoW3 has one of the best random map generators out there. Try a medium map, with just one opponent to ease yourself in.

I would also recommend a visit to Youtube where 2 sets of videos acting as very good tutorials into managing units, towns, gold etc can be found.

Great initiative, I'd love to play this game and my hardware meet requirements but... I've never played SM and my only experience is playing AOW1 (it is the reason why I visit this forum) and AOW3 hotseat with friends (long time ago). I also prefer real opponents over AI but getting good enough to be competent MP player would take me time... So there may be someone more worthy of this pack.

I am aspiring to be a decent player.. if only someone can tell me if I need to have patch v1.2 for AoW2 since the game will not run after I installed that patch.

Once I have learned AoW2, I will move on to AoW:SW, which I already purchased and have patches v1.4 and v1.5

Then I hope to join in the fun of AoW3...


PS: I recently restated playing PC games, left around 98. I am working hard to catch up on all the great games I've missed in the past couple of decades. Currently playing Fallout and AoW2, just purchased Commandos, Sacrifice, Caesar III, Elven Legacy, and Kings Bounty.
