Well, at least I last up to D10.

Bookwyrm627: I just realized that with these two-way routes to the surface, we may be on a very hefty timer to win before the undead AI kills us all.
I'm rooting for the undead.

southern: My assumption is that the AI is too garbage to win unless you give it multiple starting dragon stacks. Will be funny if we actually die to it though.
If it has multiple T4 cities and plenty of gold, I assume it can eventually put together something. If however many inaccessible cities start churning out Demons and Bone Horrors, it's going to get pretty awkward considering how income is looking in my area.

What happened??

Edit: nevermind I think I know :-/

Beholder in a cave. I put 8 units against him (i.e. my whole army). The 2 witches ran away

Oh! I thought you'd encountered the azrac's summons, nevermind.

If you lost the leader to neutrals just redo the turn, a leader killed by bad luck just ruins the game for everybody involved.

ZFR:
I agree, feel free to redo turns where you get killed by indies - if you want to keep playing this map, anyway.
The two witches run away because they don't have combat spells yet, I'd guess. They don't have 'strike'.
Uh.... and maybe use manual combat in dungeons :p

Arnuz:
In that case, you could ignore the turn I just sent you, while we see if ZFR wants to replay his.

To be honest, if it's okay with the rest, I'd rather drop out. I lost too much of my army and was beaten anyway. I'll keep this in mind for my next games.

If however, you feel, this ruins the game for the rest, I can continue and see how much longer I'll last.
Oh if you've lost interest then by all means, don't feel forced to play it either.

But yes, don't do autocombat, tactical in dungeons is a lot easier as you can fight the guardians one by one.
OK. Lesson learned for next game.

Good luck, all (and AI Undead).
Orcs, Day 11

We just walk this turn. The random skeleton walks away, but our elephant stumbles across it again, taking a mana node. I think we'll take that node and try to grind the skeleton into dust next turn.

TS

I just found out the true reason ZFR chose to stay dead. The Undead turn took nearly as long as mine! ;)
Orcs, Day 12

You know it is going to be a good day when your enchanted orc swordsman gets the drop on an injured kobold and then loses the 1v1.

TS
Wandered in the desert on a horse with no name.... and got stabbed, the end.

TS
Dwarves, Day 13

Two of the last five Sorcerer-Kings have perished, and not by one another's hand. Such is the triumph of Necromancy.
Carwyn of the Dark Elves, day 13

I try to bring the undead teleporting to the near surface under control. Luckily, there are only swordsmen for now. My druids reanimate a long dead city, and its inhabitants join our cause.

OOC
Another big advantage Southern: evil races can use the undead that pop up with animate ruins, which is going to make it easy to defend against the AI undead.

-> probably dwarves and azrac should have boats to balance?

More feedback:
* The teleport location being the portal is not too difficult to spot, at that point the undead are bottled in their cave cities... They should probably have various teleport destinations too to make it more difficult. (unless somehow dwarves and azrac can keep them without rebellion issues? I don't think so)
* Piles of 300 mana in the caves of lore make the first comer advantage higher, like the drive to try and lock the caves. They're probably better left in the dungeons.. Maybe in the victory objectives?
* Where are more scary roaming undead? Skeletons don't really cut it after some turns... Are the undead gold constrained with all their maintenance? Perhaps fill their caves with gold mines instead of towers? Or have I just been lucky?

That's just how the AI rolls, it may make some higher-tier undead later though. Its cities are fully upgraded.
