Hello everyone,

One thing I never fully understood in this game is what EXACTLY (game mechanics-wise) putting points into spheres DOES exactly.

For example, if I put 3 points into the earth sphere does that mean I can only go up to level 3 spells?

What benefits are there to maxing out the earth sphere entirely as opposed to spreading points among other spheres?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I imagine you are choosing to customize your Wizard. There is a correlation between your sphere and how much mana you get from a node associated with that sphere as well as a correlation with the spells available to learn. For example, the Dwarven Wizards traditionally learn Earth spells such as Stone Skin and Crash Gates and get 20 mana from an Earth node while Karissa of the Orcs traditionally learns Fire spells such as Wildfire and Fire Halo and only gets 10 mana from an Earth node. (Earth nodes are the toughest to take from an indie.)

I've been playing this game for a couple of years and have never customized a Wizard and have never felt like I missed something. When leveling up heroes during game play, there is no opportunity to select magic spheres, and Wizards never gain levels.

If you have four points you will get spells from all four levels, but not in full. It would be randomized. You only really get a fuller amount of spells from a sphere by only doing that sphere.

This thread suggests

--------------1---------------------------3,1,0,0
--------------2---------------------------4,2,1,0
--------------3---------------------------5,3,2,0
--------------4---------------------------5,4,3,1

But in practice, getting a spell isn't particularly reliable, other than than a basic one.

Thank you both for the information. BlaneckW, that is exactly what I was looking for.
