Just wanted to double-check this. Which order does the canon storyline of this franchise go in? So far, I've only done the canon campaign arc for the Keepers in AoW1. I got AoW3 for free on Steam and recently linked that account to my GoG Galaxy so I can just as easily access it from this. I still have to get AoW2 and SM, so I was wondering which order I should actually play these games in to get full story in order. I'm guessing it could obviously be AoW1->AoW2->SM->AoW3, but I just wanted to make sure.

The main reason I ask is because I know some game franchises have put in prequels or interquels. For instance, I know that in the Dragon Quest franchise (originally released in the US as "Dragon Warrior" up until the 8th game) had the third game as a prequel to the first and every 3 games as a certain storyline in the franchise, while the original Ninja Gaiden video games (released by Tecmo on the NES) had that third game as an interquel that took place between the first and second.

That is indeed the chronological order.
However, each game's new lore was a bit wacky and unexpected compared to what came before - sort of its own thing compared to previous lore.
