I own the whole map except for a couple of things in the south, which belong to the elves, and a few in the north which belong to the frostlings. Now, i can wipe out the frostlings in one turn if i have to, but i thought the point of playing the keepers side was not having to wipe out races without good reason. I have an alliance with the frostlings and the relationship status with them is Polite. I'm pretty sure wiping out the elves is not what is missing so i'm guessing i'll have to break the alliance and declare war on the frostlings, and then wipe them out to complete the map. Can anyone confirm this ? Am i supposed to dispose of the frostlings inspite of the good 'relations' status with them in order to proceed ?

Well...technically you don't have to wipe out the whole frostling population, just their leader. Go on, do it. For world peace!

But yes. Guessing its because they're taking up halfling lands (as stated in the map intro) and you're the halflings at that point, so letting them live would just be appeasement (and you know how that turns out).
Thanks for the reply Creslyn.

It was actually the map intro that kinda gave me the impression that there was possibly a peaceful solution to the halfling/frosling thing which made sense this being the keepers campaign and everything.

"...these opportunists (the froslings) must either enter an alliance or submit to halfling sovereignty"

Well, they've entered an alliance with me and i'm with the halflings so...

In any case thanks for confirming that, i did disposed of the frosling leader and that was that.

I'm glad i can move on but the 'relations' thing on this map still doesn't make any sense to me. Even more so because the wood elves and froslings, both in an alliance with me, were still going at each other.

This is one of the annoyances with the allied victories in AoW- all the groups involved need to have an alliance with each other in order for an allied victory to kick in. Basically this means achieving a victory while being allied with more than one other computer player is pretty difficult because unless an alliance is locked by the scenario the computer players almost always end up at each others throats.
Yes, it doesn't make much sense. At least i was hoping to be able to tell them to behave since i'm leading the campaign and everything but i guess not.

Just finished the 4th map. I went with the dwarves, the 'earthquake' map, and i can't believe the size of the map. It would probably take me 2 or 3 days to explore it fully, with the 3 levels and everything.

Thanks man, had i not read this i would be stuck, i'm also on the same map. I tried a peaceful solution with thakor, and it wasn't easy getting him on my side, i had to keep going through rejections, till finally at 1,000 gold and 100 mana he accepts me, now i can't complete the map, i guess without defeating thakor. Oh well
Thank you guys, same as everyone I was stuck trying the peaceful solution...
