I'v preordered AOW3 on steam, but I'v stopped buying games on steam short after the purchase. Is the Steam version updatable by the addons boought here? How hard is the AOW3 steam version constraint into the "steam system"?

I'm not that hot on buying it, that I would buy the game here again for 40€. Would maybe be smart if triumph would make it possible to make aow3 base game be addable here if one allready bought it on steam.

I don't know but I doubt it. There is probably someone that knows on the official forums:

Another option for you is to wait a year or two for some big sale that includes the expansion packs as well.

Unfortunately, this decision isn't up to Triumph Studios. The Steam platform forces you to purchase ALL parts of a game (a base game and expansions and DLC, for example) through the Steam store for the parts to be compatible with each other. My guess would be that is to guarantee that Valve doesn't lose sales to their competitors.
