The cursor is also laggy in AOW, and when the game is in window mode it changes the theme of windows, and if you click outside of the game the windows blink briefly.

Why is it like that? Theories or anything I can work with?

I get this error, seems this version of GOG has a custom ddraw they put in the game, does no1 know anythign about this?

Sorry, I can't help you there, but I do know I run the game on 640x480 resolution on purpose so I can see everything better. I like seeing the details. :)
