(This is about AoW1)
First of all: kudos to the developers for adding proper support for different screen ratios, even though ratios other than 4:3 weren't really popular at the time. Without stretching, decresing FoV or other such nonsense.
Unfortunately, with my monitor if I play at the native 1920x1200 resolution, everything looks tiny. Decreasing it makes it look better but no longer gives me pixel perfect mapping.
Looks like I have 3 options:
_Play at 800x600. This gives pixel perfect mapping 2 to 1, but the map on the game screen is rather small.
_Play at something in between. Like 1024x768 or 1280x960. This gives a nice compromise between size and map area, but no longer is pixel-perfect. This can be noticed for example if you look into eyes on protraits.
_Play at 1920x1200. Pixel perfect and you see a large map area, but everything is too small.
It's times like these I wish I had a CRT monitor where pixel sizes weren't fixed...
