So I recently started two new saves on my game, I am able to play for a number of turns until the game goes through an autosave (sometimes even if I manual save) but saves on every turn afterward. When I exit to the menu and try to load it up again, it loads back to the last save which is usually a fair amount of turns ago.

This problem does not seem to occur with older saves, just new ones. I am not sure if it has anything to do with it but I tried downloading a scenario off the internet which didn't end up working, and the problem only came up after that.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. I start AoC and at some point the game suddenly starts saving every turn, which takes forever, and none of the saves actually work, and I cannot save it either. Essentially, I lose my game at that point. I haven't tried quitting and reloading last save and seeing if the bug persists.

after months of research I have found the solution, first you have to go into AOC in GOG, don't start it though. next, press more which is next to play then select manage installation and verify/repair. It probably didn't contribute but when i loaded up the game I also deleted several of my old saves, hope this helps!
