Howdy!

After taking a look at the languages that Afterlife has when you buy it, I'm seeing that it is missing one: Portuguese (Brazil)

"omg are u dumb af the languages are the ones that were sold when the game was released"

Yeah? Well, Afterlife was sold in Brazil with an official translation.

Why it is rare? Because the game with the translation was only sold on a specific issue of a magazine (called "Revista do CD-ROM").

Now the good part: I have that CD and the game works...ish

Now the bad part: The CD is too scratched and you can't copy the ALIFE.000 file 100%, I have a 99.3% copy of it, and the game works for the most part, except when sometimes it tries to load something that is in the corrupted part, the game crashes.

I may post a IPS patch for the translation later for those who are curious about it...
I don't speek Portuguese (Brazilian or otherwise), but it's always great to see when fans resurrect translations GOG doesn't have.
Have you tried reading the disc in different drives? If you have more then one drive you could try if both drives combined can read more of the file with a tool like ddrescue. Unfortunately there is no Windows of ddrescue and I don't know any alternative off the top of my head, but I could help you with it if you are willing to try it with Linux.

By the way, was it (or still is it) a common practice in Brazil to publish translations of games only as a magazine coverdisc?
