Is there anywhere out there with the full manual of the game? GOG staff, might this get added later? I'm a bit saddened that it isn't included, as there's a lot of things going on in Afterlife and the quick reference is really not all that helpful; it's mostly advice on running the game on one's 486 using a boot disk and excerpted building stats from the paid and out-of-print strategy guide.

Compounding this, the FAQ up on GameFAQs has large sections missing with the justification that "the manual covers this well". Boo.

I agree, a manual is definitely needed to understand everything that you are expected to handle, the in game tutorials briefly cover some stuff but the challenges that come from advancing the game require the manual.
While not a replacement for the manual, you might also consult the FAQ originally posted on the LucasArts site via the Wayback Machine ( https://archive.org/ ):

In particular, August 11, 2001 seems to be the last time The Wayback Machine saw a non-404 page.

Personally, I'm suspicious of that FAQ as it seems to contradict what I've observed in my games, so far. I'll list information that seems to be missing or wrong.

1) The Fate Structure capacity multiplier seems to depend upon the live EMBO population, not the SOUL population, with the x1 --> x2 threshold at 120,000 living EMBOs. It's in your best interest as Demiurge to have a quickly-growing EMBO population (both for this reason and also because more EMBOs means more natural deaths per year).

2) The FAQ speculates about Ad Infinitum Siphons. What I've noticed is that it's possible to not have enough Siphons to power a realm, in which case your Mapview will show you that some of your Afterlife isn't charged.

Individual Siphons provide charge according to how many Rocks the Siphon is adjacent to. Diagonals count as adjacent, so theoretically, a Siphon can be adjacent to as many as 8 Rocks. Further, the progression is exponential by factors of 2.
1 adjacent Rock: 42 Qs
2 adjacent Rocks: 84 Qs
3 adjacent Rocks: 168 Qs
...
8 adjacent Rocks: 5376 Qs

I don't know, precisely, what a "Q" is. (I suspect it's enough charge to power one tile, but I haven't tested this. Each realm is 100x100 tiles, including the border river that surrounds all of your Heaven or Hell.)

It's worth noting that TAPPED Rocks will conduct Ad Infinitum charge (except diagonally). So, in the case where rocks surround the Siphon, you only need to run the road to the Rock, not all the way to the Siphon itself.
