Does anyone know if Advent Rising will run on a Netbook (mine is an Advent, amusingly enough)? The netbook playability thread doesn't mention it, and the required system specs look borderline...

I have the game and an MSI U100 (probably identical specs: 10 inch screen, Atom 1.6, GMA950 graphics, 160 gig hard drive).
the only difference with your computer might be:
1 I am using a gma booster like program that was written specifically for the MSI Wind,
2 I have upgraded to 2 gigs of RAM.
I have not getten a chance to install or test, but I will test it tonight and let you know tomorrow.
It definitely runs and is playable. I tested it for about a half hour. It does get slightly choppy in outside areas, but no noticable slowdown so far. I guess it depends on how sensative you are to this. I did not try lowering the graphic settings to make it run more smoothly. The default, which are the higher settings runs wonderfully indoors and the drop in framerate is hardly noticable (to me) outdoors.
Thanks, I'll consider getting it then.
