Hi All

Really stuck on this one, the game seems to be running a little bit too fast, I'm getting major audio crackle and everything is running a little bit too fast I know I've had to adjust frame pacing on other games in the past to sort this but for the life of me I can't work this one out.
This is definitely still relevant. The audio crackle should be the main thing to focus on as its not from an audio problem.. But, getting that stuff and a lot more. Its fully and completely unplayable as seen.

SOLUTION:

For whatever reason, affinity is set to one. Setting to increased affinity fixes all problems. Technically, it just needs more than one and can be less than all. Tested on Windows 11 24h2.

To do this in a easy and always automated way:

1. Create a shortcut (right click such as on Windows Desktop > New > Shortcut)

2. For location, copy paste with adjusted path as needed and then continue: powershell.exe "(Start-Process 'C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Advent Rising\System\advent.exe' -PassThru).ProcessorAffinity = 0x7F"

3. Adjust name as desired. I named mine "ADVENT".

4. Save.

5. Use shortcut to start. You must always start from this shortcut.

If desired, change the icon to the advent.exe icon or the other icon. I like the exe one better. It does look better when doing so.

Confirmed as working well.

If it fails to work, double check the target location to make sure not a single mistake was made if any changes were made. It must start with the p (of powershell.exe) and end with the double quote (of 0x7F"). All quotes be correct as used above, path must be correct, nothing must be missing, chopped off, or otherwise.

It is possible, if it still fails to work, that the current install of the OS is not correct in some way. Such as Windows Environment paths could be incorrect or maybe someone removed Powershell. I'm not getting into that stuff. By all means, on a good working OS, the above will work.

That's it.
