Whenever I quit the game, when the game's supposed to sync the save on the cloud, it seems to freeze. And the green "PLAY" button will remain off (meaning that I'm not able to launch the game anynore).

What's the reason for this?

I just checked and the sync is working fine for me (both on Windows and on macOS). Which platform are you playing on? Does the game window close?

The cloud functionality is provided by GOG and not by the game.

Thanks for the answer.

I'm playing on windows 7. I've the game installed on 2 disks. One is W7-32 bit, while the other is W7-64.
I get the same problem on both OS.
Sometimes the cloud saving works perfectly. Most of the times I get the issue described on the original post.

Must be some incompatibility connected to Galaxy.
The game works like a charm, despite this.

If this happens again, could you please upload the file called "adom.log" from the "Documents\ADOM\adom_gog" directory?

Thank you very much. :)
If it happens again, I'll be sure to do that.

Well... unfortunately, it happened again :(

Here's the link for the file. Thanks in advance for the help.

Ran into the same problem last night. I was able to fix it by quitting out of Galaxy, going back in, and running a Verify/Repair on the game. Don't know if there was an update released to Galaxy or if it's just a bug in the installer, but it's working now.

Hope this helps. =)

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I seem to be getting an error every time I try to "repair" the game on Galaxy.
It seems there's probably some issue with the Galaxy install files.
UPDATE:

It seems there really is some sort of issue with the GOG Galaxy files.

I've tried to unistall the game through Galaxy and install again and I got an error. Galaxy did not delete the game files nor did it allow to reinstall. I had to manually delete the game files, restart and only then did I manage to install the game again.

I seem to notice that the issues with cloud saves not working is directly connected to the visual settings.
When I change the visuals (like going from full screen to windowed or vice-versa) the game stops saving to the cloud when I quit (and does not allow to play again).

The only way the game begins cloud-syncing again is when I restart the computer.

I'd say that the Galaxy game files are not properly adjusted.

Will anyone (GOG staff, ADOM devs, etc), please take a look at this issue or would it be better if I filed a "support ticket"?

Thanks in advance for any help provided :)
I would recommend to restart the computer and then to uninstall ADOM from Galaxy. If this doesn't work then you could try to delete the ADOM directory yourself. Then reinstall ADOM.

Update: I could reproduce this once by switching to fullscreen mode. But I've tried it again (after rebooting the PC) and then it worked. Seems kind of random.

I've contacted the GOG support to help with this issue.

Thank you very much for your help.

I did as you said and managed to completely delete ADOM and install it again. But whenever I change the visual settings the same problem occurs.

Must be some sort of interference between the visual aspect and GOG Galaxy I guess.
GOG is investigating the issue, they've turned off the game overlay for now. I hope this helps.

Hmmm... It seems this has solved the issue. I've changed the display settings several times and I haven't had a "break" after quitting the game.

Thank you so much for your help, jterstiege :)
