Can i get it in German language?

Theoretically this is no problem, because all content (text, video etc.) of the German version is stored in separate files. The only issue is that they will only be used by the game, if the exe is pointing to them, which means one has to modify the current exe or replace it with the one from the latest German release (v1.06) and remove its protection.

That of course is nothing that should be done and shared here. So unless GOG provides a German exe at some point, you have to stick to the English version. :)

Most likely no and that's due to technical reasons as we had to modify the executable for the original game quite heavily. Since the different language versions all have different executable files this would mean we'd have to modify the executable for each given language.

Keep in mind that the fixes applied to the English version of the game won't necessarily transfer over to either the German, French, or any other non-English version. Sorry :(

You are not using the (more or less) default v1.06 exe?

I wonder what language strings are included in that file, since to me it looks as if the translation does happen outside of the exe. *scratching head*

For Act Of War: Direct Action
I took the GOG Modified Exe and my Original German Retail (Collectors Edition) Version.

It works. I played ~hour. then I Compared the German and the English GoG Release. Impoartant are the files
- DATAS_DE.DAT
- DATAV_DE.DAT

In the Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eugen Systems\ActOfWar add "Language"="DE" (sz)

For Act Of War: HT
- DataL.Dat (Need to be last Patched)

In the Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eugen Systems\ActOfWar_HighTreason add "Language"="DE" (sz)

Voila, both Version are German.

Edit: it's safe to start the Game in XPSP2 Compatibility mode.

Depending on Marty2GOG's information is it possible to get an gog patch/language pack for the german version for those of us that dont have the german version on dvd?
